Secure Site Housing Calendar Proofs

Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is the secure version of HTTP, the protocol over which data is sent between your browser and the website connection. The “S” at the end of HTTPS stands for “Secure.” It means all communications between your browser and the website are encrypted. HTTPS is often used to protect highly confidential online transactions like online banking and online shopping order forms.

Curriculum Production (CP) of the SGS Calendar in the Production environment has an HTTPS certificate but the Staging environment does not. Since CP in the Staging environment is a clone of CP in the Production environment, the browser will display a default warning message about the Staging site not being secure; that is, there is no encryption.

Please be assured that the U of T servers are housed centrally at Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS). The process of proofing in Staging does not require any logging in, filling out of forms, or collection of any personal information.

If you would rather not access the Staging version of CP, a PDF of your calendar proof can be emailed to you instead. Please contact Lily or Karen to arrange.
